GBC has an agreement for discounted purchases with Dell Computers. Go to the Dell website and click For Public Sector. On the drop down menu click Employee Purchases. Under Higher Education click Student, Facutly & Staff personal purchases. Choose the state (Nevada) and city (Elko) and college (GBC). You can shop this site to find what you want. Faculty members can download and install Windows Office XP/2007/2010 for home use for a nominal fee. Contact Dwaine Hiles at 775.753.2220 for the contract number.

Available for students is Open Office software, which has nearly all the same features as Windows Office and creates Office-compatible files. Anyone can download it free by clicking on the graphic below. Or it can be purchased from the Controller's Office for a small fee that simply covers the creation of a CD. (Classes in specific MS Office products will require the use of the Microsoft version, but for all other purposes, OpenOffice should be more than adequate for coursework needs.)
