CTE College Credit and Barrick Offer Fall 2016 Mining Rocks Tour

Mining Rocks Tour Applications Due Oct. 14.Join the “Mining Rocks” tour on Tuesday October 25th , 8 AM – 3 PM to explore the careers and programs available to become a part of Nevada's mining industry.

Great Basin College CTE College Credit Program, in collaboration with Barrick, will be offering an opportunity to tour Goldstrike’s mine site and learn about the different careers & educational opportunities available in mining. The variety of careers and programs discussed on the tours will include: electrical systems technology, diesel technology, welding technology, mining, engineering, natural resources, earth sciences, office technology, human resources, and business administration.

This opportunity will be open for 45 participants. Interested high school students who want to participate will have first priority. Great Basin College students & community members who are interested in attending GBC are also encouraged to apply.
