In my long association with the computers and the web, I've come to be aware of the difference between the "flat world" of information and the round world of real life, which includes gestures, nuances, "vibes."
By consequence of Google, factual information has come to be much less important to me than before. It's so easily available now and doesn't need to clutter up my head, or my desk. The rest -- the real, present, vibrant stuff of living in the sensory now -- becomes the dimension in which we most need to evolve as a species.
It's ironic that I've spent so much of my attention during the last decade and a half presenting factoids to the world. I suppose, deep down, the effort arises from a wish that other minds can be less cluttered with facts (or at least less frustrated by efforts to discover them when they're needed) and more awake to the real world of the right here, right now.
