Learn more about Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an internal martial art, often called “poetry in motion.” It is comprised of four parts: meditation, warm-up exercises, Tai Chi Ch’uan movements, and cool down exercises. By integrating these four parts, the student learns to combine each part of the body into a whole unit, exercising every muscle, joint, tendon, ligament, and especially the mind. Tai Chi can be used as a wellness program, an exercise program, and a relaxation program, all rolled in to one. Tai Chi teaches the student to live in harmony with oneself and nature.
Youth Karate
Learn more about Youth Karate
Students will learn and understand the three main components of Kyokushin, which is a stand-up, full-contact karate: basics (kihon), forms (kata), and sparring (kumite). In this class, students will practice various hand strikes and kicks with their classmates. Physical fitness is a large component of the class, and students will engage in exercises designed to improve strength, endurance, and flexibility. Discipline and respect for others are also recurring lessons taught throughout the course. Kyokushin is a Japanese martial art, and students can expect to learn correct Japanese terminology for various techniques. Youth Karate is for ages 10 and up.
