Great Basin College wants to be your choice for higher education. GBC offers associate and baccalaureate level instruction in career and technical education and academic areas. About 4,000 students are enrolled annually online from across the country and on campuses and centers across 86,500 square miles, two time zones, and ten of Nevada's largest counties. We border Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and California. We are GBC!

New Bachelor of Arts in English Being Offered
Bachelor of Arts in English Mission:
The mission of the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English is to fulfill and extend the mission and philosophy of Great Basin College. The BA program provides students with skills and knowledge in literary analysis, composition, creative writing and cultural study. The program is designed to provide students with written and oral communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as skills necessary to understand and communicate in and with various cultures.

Earn a Certificate of Achievement (CA), Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Applied Science (AAS), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) Associate of Science (AS), Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) or take Continung Education Programs at your pace, on your time, at your convenience. The online certificate and degree programs provide web-based instruction for students seeking a career in any number of exciting fields and is ideally structured for students who require theflexibility and accessibility to coursework delivered outside the typicalundergraduate learning environment.

All baccalaureate programs at GBC have special admission and completion requirements (for details, see the particular program of interest). GBC offers the following Bachelor of Arts degrees:
Bachelor's Degrees (also referred to as "baccalaureate degrees") entail four years of concentrated study for full-time students, preparing them for professional, technical, and management roles in the public and private sectors.

Associate of Arts Degrees are designed for students intending to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a traditional liberal arts education. The AA provides for two years of study in general education, and it allows you to begin your major in such fields as art, English, and history. You can complete two years of study toward a bachelor’s degree and satisfy the requirements summary for an Associate of Arts Degree. Please also refer to refer to college-wide graduation requirements for the AS degree. GBC offers the following Associate of Arts (AA) degrees:
Associate of Science Degrees are designed for students intending to transfer to a four-year college or university. The AS provides for two years of study. You can complete two years of study toward a bachelor’s degree and satisfy the requirements summary for an Associate of Science Degree. Associate of Applied Sciences Degrees entail two years of concentrated study for full-time students. These programs prepare students for entry level employment or upgrade of current employment status in specific fields, including technical fields. GBC offers the following Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees:
A one-year Certificate of Achievement Program is typically an abbreviatedform of a corresponding two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. The shorter Certificate Program prepares students for specific job skills quickly:

Great Basin College also has several short courses that can enhance a person’s professional or personal skills. Students can choose a self-paced tutorial or an instructor-led format.
