Program Licensures

Learn Lead keyboard graphic.Great Basin College (GBC) is required to provide accurate information to out-of-state students relating to its programs that lead to professional licensure. This is meant to help out-of-state students make the best academic decision that will best serve them in the states where they are located.

Great Basin College will use the most recent information provided by its students to determine their current location in its efforts to communicate as accurately as possible, information relating to each licensed profession. Students are responsible for providing Great Basin College with their current addresses, and updates as their addresses change.

All of the programs that GBC offers meet licensure requirements in the state of Nevada. Other states may have different licensure requirements. Great Basin College strives to provide the most accurate information possible, but may not be able to determine the status of its programs in every state.

The following is a list of programs GBC offers which potentially lead to licensed professions.

Land Surveying

Great Basin College has not determined the status of its Land Surveying program in all other US states/territories. Here is a link to the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying: https://ncees.org/ Please review the licensing requirements for your state.

Human Services Certificate

Great Basin College has not determined the status of its Addiction Counseling Certificate program in all other US states/territories. EMT/Paramedic

Great Basin College’s EMT and Paramedic Programs qualify graduates to take the National Registry exam, which is recognized nationwide. https://www.nremt.org/rwd/public Please review the licensing requirements for your state.

Radiology

Great Basin College’s Radiology program is offered only on campus and broadcast through interactive video to other GBC campuses in Nevada. It is not offered online and therefore not available to out-of-state students.

Sonography

Great Basin College’s Sonography program is offered only on campus and broadcast through interactive video to other GBC campuses in Nevada. It is not offered online and therefore not available to out-of-state students.

Nursing (Associate of Applied Science)

Great Basin College's AAS Nursing Program is offered only on campus and broadcast through interactive video to other GBC campuses in Nevada. Out-of-state students, if admitted into the program, must attend live courses at one of the GBC campuses in Nevada. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing, and will be eligible to take the NCLEX exam which is a national exam that qualifies individuals to practice as a registered nurse. However, individual states may have professional licensure requirements beyond the NCLEX exam. Great Basin College has not determined what those requirements may be in all other US states/territories. Certified Nursing Assistant

Great Basin College's CNA program is offered as hybrid courses with in-person skills (at a Nevada campus location) and clinical components.It is not offered online and therefore not available to out-of-state students.

Teacher Education

Great Basin College has not determined the status of its Teacher Education program in all other US states/territories. Social Work

Great Basin College’s Social Work program is a 3+1 program, meaning students begin at GBC and transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno to complete the degree. Therefore, the GBC portion of the program does not result in a degree. The University of Nevada, Reno will provide disclosure on the status of its Social Work program in other states.
