Adding and Dropping Courses

ADDING COURSES

You may add courses during the first week of the semester by logging into the MyGBC Self-Service Center. Adding courses after the first week (or, for short courses, after the first class) requires the submission of an Add/Drop Form*, signed by the instructor, to the Admissions office or your branch campus.

DROPPING COURSES

To drop a course, go to the MyGBC Self-Service Center (detailed instructions are here), or print and complete an Add/Drop Form* and return it to your local branch campus or the Admissions and Records Office in Berg Hall on the Elko Campus. Depending upon the date you drop a course, you may be entitled to a 100% or 50% refund. If you do not formally withdraw by the end of the 13th week of instruction (see the Academic Calendar), your instructor may assign a grade of “F” to your grade report.

Financial aid recipients who drop courses should consult the Student Financial Services Office.

*Viewing forms requires installation of the Adobe Reader, available free at the Adobe website.
